It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover was a book I have seen all over, but thankfully it was never spoiled for me. It follows a girl, Lily Blossom through her life in Boston, while also dredging up her past. Lily meets a guy, Ryle, who she seems to have an issue shaking off. Until finally they both agree they want to be together. When she goes out to dinner with her mom and Ryle, she runs into the first boy she ever loved Atlas. She starts reading her old diaries about Atlas and jumping into the past to events that changed her life. She is also living in a fairytale with Ryle and falling madly in love with him. Lily starts to see the darker side of her life and wonders about Atlas and what could be. This story was different than I expected to be honest. I thought it was just going to be a romance when it turned out to be much darker than that. It is a story about learning not to judge someone just based on the things you see. You may think you know the whole story, but you never know everything about someone else’s life. It is always easier to judge when it’s not you. I loved the writing of this book and it really captured me. I was hooked off the bat and had to keep reading to know what was going to happen next. It was a nice change up from my usual books and I bought it in passing at the airport. This book does come with a trigger warning and may hit deeper than you think it will.
